Asphalt Sealcoating
The most cost-effective way to protect your pavement and extend its life by 5-10 years
Sunscreen for Your Asphalt
Sealcoating is a protective liquid coating applied to asphalt surfaces that creates a barrier against the elements: water, UV radiation, gasoline, oil, and road salts. Without this protection, asphalt oxidizes, becomes brittle, and begins to crack — especially in Alaska's extreme climate.
Proper prep and sealcoating every 2-3 years can extend pavement life by roughly 5-10 years by slowing oxidation, water intrusion, and freeze-thaw damage.
- Seals surface pores against water infiltration
- Protects against UV oxidation & brittleness
- Resistant to gas, oil & chemical spills
- Restores rich black appearance
- Reduces long-term maintenance costs significantly
How We Do It Right
Surface Cleaning
We blow out all debris, remove dirt, and clean oil spots. Proper surface prep is what separates lasting results from work that peels in one season.
Crack Filling
Any cracks wider than 1/4" are filled with hot-pour crack filler before sealing. This stops water infiltration at the source.
Edge Masking
We protect surrounding surfaces — curbs, landscaping, garage floors — so the job stays clean and professional.
Sealcoat Application
We apply professional-grade coal tar or asphalt-based sealer in uniform coats for complete, even coverage that lasts.
Alaska-Specific Application
Alaska's freeze-thaw cycles are among the most destructive forces on asphalt anywhere in the US. We apply sealer only when temperatures are consistently above 50°F and conditions are right — because rushing the job in marginal weather is how you get a coating that peels and fails. We do it right, or we wait for the right conditions.
Working season: approximately late May through September. Book early — spots fill fast.
